Portraits are such a strong visual representation of the connection we have with other beings.
Recently I was fortunate to get to know Wendy and photograph her powerful connection with horses. The shutter of my camera got a workout while I observed the silent conversation going on between Wendy, Amir and Raj. Swept up into the beauty of their interaction I witnessed so many touching moments. This portrait of the three of them communicating trust, respect, with a touch of curiosity is my favourite.
In a later session Wendy spent time playing with a stunning black Friesian gelding named Jensen. The late afternoon breeze lifted Wendy’s hair and Jensen’s mane swirling it as one. There was gentle strength in the way a petite woman and a gentle giant communicated with each other. I was completely captivated.
