Autumn in Australia is pretty but there is nothing quite like the stunning splendour of “the Fall” in Canada. Pink Turtle Photography hope you enjoy this portrait of Canada.
I love that the leaves are glorious colours but they bear the scars of having weathered three of the four seasons. The bright green leaves that emerge in spring all perfect and new become yellow, orange or red as the trees lose the ability to produce chlorophyll. The red maple leaf is a strong symbol of Canada but it is also an enduring beautiful memory for me. As a child I used to run and jump into piles of fallen leaves in September and October after reluctantly helping the family to rake them. Standing under a canopy of scarlet maple leaves at the waters edge in Muskoka Ontario is one of my favourite places to be. All of my senses are awake and I am home.
